Seru Bomba Bua
- Details
On Thursday January 30, 2014 we visited the Christoffelpark once again. But this time we went to the part to the North of the entrance and more specific to the area bordering the Northern part of the former plantation of St. Hyronimus. We met at 8 AM at the entrance of the Christoffel park and drove with two cars towards Serka Manuel. There we parked the cars and started our hike. Our target for the day was the Werbata triangulation point that we hoped to find on top of the Seru Bomba Bua
Around the Seru Gracia
- Details
The Seru Gracia is with its 296 meters one of the highest mountains in Curaçao. We started our hike on Thursday January 16, 2014 from the top of this mountain. That is possible because there is a road till the top to enable service men to get to the equipment on top of this mountain. There are several large antennes here for communication on the island and between the islands and for the coastal radar. So we parked our cars there and descended on the Northwestern slope of the mountain.
Nameless roi next to Roi Sanchie
- Details
During our previous visit to the area of Zevenbergen in the Christoffelpark we went through the roi to Pos Kayuda and from there we walked back through Roi Sanchie. Between these two roi's there is a nameless roi. That was our target for the hike on Thursday January 9, 2014.
We parked our cars once again at the subtop of the Seru Gracia. From there we descended into the roi. Not an easy task because the slope was quite steep and the underground not very stable. And it had rained so the rocks were slippery.
Pos Kayuda and Roi Sanchie
- Details
On Thursday December 19 we made our last hike of 2013. And because there is still a lot to explore in the area of Zevenbergen (seven mountains) in the Christoffelpark, we planned an extra long trip from a subtop of the Seru Gracia through an unnamed roi (riverbed) to Pos Kayuda and from there through another roi, Roi Sanchie, to another top, where we had parked on of our cars. And it became indeed a long trip because the vegetation was much denser than we had anticipated. It took us 6 hours to walk a distance of 5 kilometers. But it was worth every minute because we walked through an incredibly beautiful nature that made you wonder if you were still in Curaçao.
Seru di Baha Hundu
- Details
On Thursday December 5, 2013 we went again to the Christoffelpark. We are exploring the mountains and valleys in the area of Zevenbergen (Seven mountains) and this time the Seru di Baha Hundu was our target. A mountain that is 206 meters high according to the topographical map from Kadaster '93. We parked our cars again close to the Seru Bientu; from there we went for about 100 meters in the direction of the top of the Seru Bientu; there we left the path and descended in the valley between the Seru di Palomba that we climbed last week and the Seru di Baha Hundu, our target for this week.
